Ashton and Jeremy met on September 11, 2024, thanks to Bumble and a simple message from Jeremy that read, “Bonjour, interested in grabbing a drink?” Ashton said yes, and their first date was set for Pourhouse.
Jeremy arrived first and took a seat at the bar. Ashton walked in, sat down right beside him, opened a menu… and said absolutely nothing. She waited for him to notice her sitting there, which he eventually did. Ashton thought Jeremy was very handsome, a little nerdy, and adorably nervous. Jeremy, on the other hand, thought Ashton was a little weird (in the best way), very attractive, and incredibly easy to talk to.
The two later moved upstairs to one of the rooftop tables, where what was supposed to be a quick drink turned into hours of conversation. Mid-conversation, Jeremy spilled his drink. Ashton noticed, but kindly pretended she didn’t. By the end of the night, Ashton spilled her own drink and joked that it was only fair. Jeremy would later spill another drink on a future date, which Ashton found endlessly entertaining.
A few dates in, things started to shift. On their fourth date—at Ashton’s favorite coffee shop—she was suddenly struck by the thought that the man sitting across from her could one day be her husband. For Jeremy, the moment came on their fifth date at that same coffee shop, when he kissed Ashton for the first time and realized this was something special.
Early on, their biggest challenge was time. Ashton’s school schedule and Jeremy’s mentoring with a robotics team—on top of running a startup—made free time hard to come by. But they enjoyed being together too much to let busy schedules get in the way. They made a plan, found a rhythm that worked for them, and made sure to choose each other—again and again.
On February 15, 2025, during a Valentine’s Day weekend getaway in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Jeremy proposed on the deck of a mountain cabin. He was helping Ashton align her telescope and invited her to look through it at a house across the way. Ashton did—but turned around far too quickly, catching Jeremy mid-move as he scrambled to get down on one knee with the ring box open. Despite the slight mishap (a surprise for both of them), Jeremy asked the question, and Ashton answered without hesitation: “Absolutely!” This was just the beginning of Ashton and Jeremy’s forever—and they can’t wait to celebrate it with you.
